As you transition into adulthood in this indie game from LollipopSissy, you can choose between the straight and narrow, a naughtier path, or get the best of both worlds.
The game tests your decision-making skills through quizzes and tests, although be warned that Journey Into Sissyhood also contains mature content. A great story that delivers an introspective coming-of-age experience, more casual and more grounded unlike Oxenfree or Life is Strange.

At its core, Journey Into Sissyhood explores one of the most common challenges young girls have before they become full-fledged women. It gives you a taste of everything—going shopping, meeting up with your friends, and even getting to know guys—that makes the game well-rounded enough to connect with a wide audience, yet not deep enough to really make an impact.
The visuals are more into realism than any other art style, making the characters look like printable paper dolls in between progressing dialogue and changing photorealistic backgrounds. It settles for a visual novel approach, yet more than makes up for it with its writing. The dialogue is naturally flowing and easily relatable, although it does contain a number of mature content that might not work with younger audiences.
Also, the short playthrough is par for the course among these types of games. However, additional content is regularly released through downloadable packs and updates—all of them available to the public for free. These add-ons further add complexity and replayability to the lifestyle simulation experience, making the game worth checking out every now and then. From new content and choices to the additional storylines, it’s an evolving project.

As it stands, Journey Into Sissyhood manages to achieve what few indie titles could: remain complete and playable even as it continues to introduce additional content. Its simplistic approach to the visual novel genre makes the graphics a lesser concern, with your attention being directed instead toward the story and the choices you can potentially make. Its variety comes at the price of depth, but it’s still good nonetheless.
